Roy Wayne Sanders, Sr., 87, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in Baytown, TX. He was born December 20, 1920 in Temple, OK to Wylie Sanders and Hallie M. Spurlock Sanders. He was a long time resident of Bay City, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City, retired as a Shipping Supervisor, after 35 years of service, from Hoechst-Celanese Chemical Co. in Bay City, and was a US Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife: Mila Frances Smith Sanders of Baytown; his daughter: Debra Saffell of Baytown; his brother: Tommy D. Sanders of Baytown; grandson: Larry Sims of Spring; and great granddaughter: Morgan E. Sims of Spring. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Mila Beth Sims; a son: Roy Wayne Sanders, Jr.; parents Wylie and Hallie Sanders; 3 brothers Doyle "Porter" Sanders, J.C. "Jake" Sanders, Orban "Speck" Sanders; and sister Wanda "Sissy" Darnell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 22, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Bay City with Rev. Michael Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
