Roy Lee Kelly, 79, of Palacios passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 of complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was born on December 28, 1937 in Palacios, Texas to the late Lawrence C. Kelly, Sr. and Ella Lee Cosby Kelly.

Roy was a pipefitter for the various industries around the Matagorda area most of his life. In his spare time, he was a backyard mechanic and enjoyed working on classic Chevys. After retirement, he began his own small business of repairing lawn mowers. He was also an avid duck and goose hunter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Marie Kelly Hunter, a sister Mary Richards, and two brothers, Robert McCrory and Donald Kelly, Sr.

Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Hyatt Kelly of Palacios; daughters, Karen L. Buentello and husband, Richard, Sr. of Virginia, Michele Stuhrenberg and husband, Stephen of Palacios, and Deborah Maldonado of Palacios. He has ten grandchildren Richard Buentello, Jr. and wife, Johanna Piatkowska Buentello of Szczawno Zdroj Poland; Cristina Buentello of Richmond,VA; Michael Buentello and wife, Brooke Munoz Buentello of Palacios, TX; Corrie Hunter of Victoria, TX; Jarred Stuhrenberg and wife, Sydney Wyrick Stuhrenberg, of Palacios, TX; Paige Stuhrenberg of Houston, TX; Clayton Stuhrenberg of Palacios, TX; Madeline Ferretiz, Christy Ferretiz, and Juan Ferretiz, Jr. all of Palacios, TX. Roy also has three great-grandchildren Adrian and Eryk Buentello of Szczawno Zdroj Poland; Juliette Buentello of Palacios, TX; and two more great-grandchildren expected within a month. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence C. Kelly, Jr. and wife, Pauline of Victoria, TX, and sister Betty Kelly Burch and husband, Barry Burch of Zavalla, TX.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Palacios Cemetery with Rev. Louis Rush officiating.
