Rosemary Yates Faseler, 87, of Bay City, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008. She was born April 26, 1921 in Cameron, TX to the late Roy Hall Yates and Jenny Angeline Porter Yates. She was married to Emil John "E.J." Faseler, Jr on December 1, 1941 and was a resident of Matagorda County since 1957.
Rosemary was a graduate and received her teaching degree from the University of Texas, was a Life Member of the U.T. Ex-Students Association and later received her Masters Degree as a Reading Specialist. She taught English and Reading with the Bay City ISD, and also received her real estate license and worked for Earl & Erwin Ward Caldwell Bankers Reality in Bay City. She retired in 1997. She was a member of the 1st united Methodist Church, and a former member of St. Paul's Methodist Church.
She was a charter member of the Matagorda General Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the local Literacy Volunteers of America, wrote articles for the newsletter of the Matagorda County Birding Nature Center, an avid Bridge player, and was a world traveler with her husband. She took great pride and pleasure in family, churches, friends, traveling, community activities, reading and writing.
Rosemary is survived by her sons: John Roy Faseler & wife Barbara of Lake Jackson and Robert Yates Faseler & wife Delaine of Port Neches; her grandchildren: John Roy Faseler Jr & wife Mary, Keith Edward Faseler & wife Jacqueline, Bradley Wayne Faseler & wife Alison, Phillip Wesley Faseler & fiancée Erin Kupcunas, Paul Clinton Faseler & wife Deena, Jenny Delaine Faseler and Payton Robert Faseler; and by 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Charles Faseler husband, her parents, and by her brother Charles Roy Yates.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church of Bay City with Revs. Chris Harrison and Pauline Harvey officiating. Interment will be held at 4:30 PM Wednesday at the Pebble Grove Cemetery in Milam County, TX with her grandson Paul Faseler officiating. Her grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
