Rose Alfaro, 80, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Victoria, TX. She was born April 22, 1929 in Bay City, TX to Thomas Rocha and Torivia Sauceda Rocha. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters: Rosario Larson, Dolores Maldonado, and Patricia Estrada, all of Bay City; by her sons: Hector Alfaro of Bay City, Benigno Alfaro of Bay City, Julio Alfaro of Dallas, Thomas Alfaro of Bay City and Leobardo Alfaro, Sr. of Rosenberg; by her sister Priscilla Duncan of Corvalis, OR; and by 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Torivia Rocha and by her husband, Benigno Alfaro.

The Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 28, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, TX. Pallbearers will be Abraham Estrada, Joshua Alfaro, J.J. Maldonado, B.J. Maldonado, Leo Alfaro, Jr. and Justin Alfaro. Honorary pallbearers include Alfred Estrada, Jr., C.J. Maldonado, David Estrada, Jason Alfaro, and Joshua C. Alfaro
