Ronald Rene Lynn, 71, of Midfield passed away December 24, 2023.  He was born August 19, 1952 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Robert Lynn and Ruanna Rene Kownslar Lynn.

In 1971, after his dad passed away, he and his mom moved to Sweeny. Across from his new home was a bakery where he went to buy sweets. When he walked in, he saw the love of his life, Mary Lou. He would come into the bakery often but he was really there to pursue his love interest. With her lists of "don't's" she agreed to go out on a date with him. From their first kiss, they both knew it was meant to be. Ronnie and Mary Lou just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in June of 2023.

After working in the oilfield for several years, he accepted Christ in the beginning of 1975. He felt called to the life of ministry in 1980 and just began his 10th year preaching at Morales Baptist Church, in Morales.

After he and Mary Lou retired from Lynn Engineering in 2018, he enjoyed spending time with Mary Lou, preaching, mowing grass, and took care of anything and everything his grandchildren needed help with. He was also the designated maintenance man on the Lynn Compound. Ron was a caring, honest, God-loving man.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Gerald Lynn, Bobby Lynn and Dennis Lynn.

Ron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Lynn; daughter Mandi Lynn; son Stuart Lynn and his wife Lisa; grandchildren Jordy Carrillo (Krystal), Jarad Ramirez (Gabby), Jasmine Williams (Mell), Jennifer Cortez, Jacob Lynn (Celest), Jilian Lynn, Jenay Lynn, Jaley Lynn, and great grandchildren Amiyah, Zane, Brielle, Kamryn, Jonah, Emmy, Daxton and Willow along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Vanderbilt Baptist Church, Christian Life Center, 117 Victoria Street, Vanderbilt, TX 77991.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jack Hutson and Rev. Roy Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at the Midfield Cemetery in Midfield, TX.  Pallbearers will be Jordy Carrillo, Jarad Ramirez, Jacob Lynn, Mell Williams, Matthew Alridge, Brandon Lively, Kyle Lively and Zane Ramirez.
