Rodney Robert Mount, 61, of Van Vleck went home to be with the Lord where he will be in peace and free of pain on March 19, 2012. Rodney was born on December 17, 1950 in Houston to Rodney Horace & Jean Margerum Mount. He was a Mason, a Shrine Clown, and an avid Outdoorsman. Rodney lost a battle to cancer, which he fought valiantly for many years. He was an inspiration to all for his unflinching faith and strength.

Rodney is survived by his mother: Jean Mount; 2 daughters: Dawn Dickerson & husband Michael, and Lisa Oliveros & husband Jhovanny; 4 grandsons; sister: Nanette Shearer, and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his father: Rodney "Rocky" Mount; daughter: Brandi; brother: Mark; and stepsister: Sherry.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, March 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Bay City with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland at 2:00 PM Friday.
