Rodney Wayne Dannelley, 50, of Van Vleck, passed away Wednesday Oct. 19, 2016. Rodney was born Oct. 28 1965 in Mobile, Arizona to Edward and Rosie Blair Dannelley.

Rodney was a quadraplegic for over 30 years. He always had a positive and happy attitude, and would see the best in others no matter what. Finally, on this day in October, he was able to walk through the gates of Heaven. How happy he must be.

Rodney is preceded in death by his brother James (Jim) Edward Dannelley . He is survived by his parents Ed and Rosie Dannelley of Van Vleck; sister Tammy Quinn of Pearland, Texas; sister-n-law Nancy Dannelley of Van Vleck; niece Seina Bradford and husband Lane of Palacios, Texas; nephews James and Michael Dannelley of Van Vleck, and his soul mate and brother of the heart of 30 years, Mark Jacobs.

The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services will be 3:00pm Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Van Vleck with Rev. Bob Hobbs and Brother Jim Hardaway officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers are Lane Bradford, James Dannelley, Mark Jacobs, Neil Richardson, Brandon Richardson and Roger Hood.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to Matagorda Nursing and Rehab.
