The world has lost a remarkable man, and Heaven has gained an amazing angel. Robert Preston Weeks of Bay City, TX, was called Home on November 16, 2015. He passed peacefully from this world surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Jean Weeks, their son Bret Weeks & his wife Shelly of Sweeny, TX, daughter Christy Hauser & husband Gary of Montgomery, TX, brother Derb Weeks & wife June of Midland, TX, and brother Joe Weeks & wife Melva of San Angelo, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Weeks & Maudine Porter Weeks of Lamesa, TX, his sisters Gladys Womak & Rena Hogge of Lamesa, TX, and his beloved daughter Lisa Krenek of Bay City, TX.

Preston was born in Dawson County, Texas, on June 12, 1933. The oldest boy in a close-knit family of five children, he grew up to be their pillar of strength. He spent his childhood working on the family farm, and carried that hard work ethic through to his adulthood, serving his country proudly in the U.S. Army before embarking on an impressive 26-year career with Celanese Chemical Plant. Preston fell in love with his wife, Jean, at first sight and vowed then & there that she was his girl. They married in 1953; the start of a beautiful family tree that blossomed into three children, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Preston & Jean bounced around for a few years before finally settling in Bay City, TX, in 1964. It was here that they planted their roots and spent their beautiful life together. Preston spent his retirement years working in a frame shop set up at their home, framing the art work Jean paints – some of his proudest work. He was a beloved member of the community, known by all as a genuinely good man of utmost integrity and honor, with a heart of solid gold. We, his family, will miss him dearly and count ourselves beyond blessed to be of his legacy.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Preston's name to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston or First Baptist Church of Bay City.
