Robert "R. J." Nini, 89, of Matagorda passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was born in Matagorda County on April 24, 1924 to the late Thomas & Thelma Baxter Nini. R. J. was originally from Matagorda, but lived in Aransas Pass most of his life.

He is survived by his sister: Luke Lera of Galveston; 2 nieces: Fredye Lou Dennard & husband Jim of Cleveland, TX and Barbara Miller of Pearland; nephew: Gayle Watkins Jr. of Palacios; 2 great nephews: Zane Miller of Pearland and Jimbo Dennard of Cleveland; and numerous other loving relatives.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, May12, 2013 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be: 2:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2013 at Matagorda Cemetery.
