Robert Wayne McCombs, 88, of Palacios passed away August 31, 2024.  He was born June 11, 1936 in Jasonville, Indiana to the late James Elsworth McCombs and Emma Rila Wools McCombs.

Robert was a loving husband and father, and felt his greatest accomplishment was his 62 years marriage to his wife Ruth Russell McCombs. Robert worked as a printer for many years starting with the Tribune Star in Terre Haute, Indiana and including The Houston Post, The Houston Chronicle, and Gulf Printing. Robert worked many side jobs to support his family including farming and timber. Robert loved painting, hunting, fishing, and traveling with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Naide McCombs, a son Keith Edward McCombs and a brother Timothy McCombs.

Survivors include daughter Tracy McCombs; sons Robert Wayne McCombs, Jr. and Charles Alan McCombs; brother Thomas McCombs; grandchildren Lora Heineman (Scott), C. J. McCombs, Justin James Alan McCrory, Robert Wayne McCombs III, Sherilynn McCombs, Jennifer McCombs and Jessica McCombs and great grandson Dimitri Heineman.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2024 at The Family Worship Center.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM with Rev. George Craft officiating.  Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery.  Pallbearers are CJ McCombs, Justin McCrory and Scott Heineman.
