Obituary

Robert Eugene Hagaman, 77, of Bay City, Texas passed away on October 28, 2017. He was born November 3, 1939 in New Gulf, Texas to the late O. R. and Pauline Freeman Hagaman. Robert was a history buff, especially the Civil War. He loved bow and rifle hunting. He was an avid poker player, the "World's Best!" Robert served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He owned several businesses in Bay City, and was also a pipefitter with the Local Pipefitters #211. Robert was a graduate of Bay City High School and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert "Bobby" Eugene Hagaman Jr.; and sister, Nancy Hampton.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Patricia Hagaman; children, Richard Hagaman and wife Joan, Robbyn Sandhouse and husband Mark, and Patti Taylor and husband Chris; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; niece, Nikki Murray; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Monday, October 30, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

The procession to the cemetery was escorted by the Matagorda County Cavalry. Graveside honors were presented by the Bay City VFW Post #2438 and the Matagorda Cavalry.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Christopher Metzger, Fred (Haste) Rodd, Chrystain Taylor, Sgt. Martin Jagodinski; granddaughter, Faith Hagaman; and sister-in-law, Kay Bronkema.

Honorary pallbearers were grandaughters, Elayna Hagaman, Miranda Hagaman, Haley Taylor; grandson, David Jagodinski; and lifelong friends, Don Jones and Mack Chandler.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VFW Post #2438 in Bay City or the Matagorda Cavalry.

The family wishes to extend our many thanks to the physicians and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital Neuro ICU, IPH Hospice of Angleton, VFW Post #2438, the Matagorda Cavalry, and Matagorda Nursing & Rehab Center. A very special thank you to Administrator Cody Holloway for making it possible to transfer dad on short notice from Houston to Bay City to be with mom in his final hours. A huge heartfelt thank you to Nurse Donna Herring and other staff at MRMC for the tender care provided to our father and our whole family at this very difficult time.
