Robert Allan Foote, 73, of Bay City, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born February 10, 1943 in New Gulf, Texas and spent his lifetime dedicated to service and helping others. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Julian Foote, and mother, Marilyn Burton Collins.
After attending Wharton County Junior College, he began working at the Bay City Celanese Chemical plant in 1966 as a laboratory analyst and also served on the fire and emergency response team while there. He retired from Celanese after 35 years in 2001. Additionally, Robert served with the El Campo Police Department as well as a Deputy Sheriff with the Matagorda County Sheriff's Department and worked patrol for the Bay City Police Department. He was a crossing guard for the Bay City Independent School District and was a member and officer in the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara, son, Wesley Foote and wife Diane of The Woodlands, Texas and son Kelly Foote and wife Denise of Brazoria, Texas; 2 sisters Margaret Hadaway (Bennie) of Needville, TX, Marilyn Koenig (Billy) of Louise, TX, brother Daniel Foote (Judy) of Hallettsville, TX, James Cervenka of Guy, TX, Ronald Lee Collins of North Carolina. Grandchildren Nichole Foote (San Antonio, TX), Dylan Livingston (Boerne, TX), Ashley Featherston (San Antonio, TX), Kristin Foote (Houston, TX), Alyssa Foote (The Woodlands, TX), Alexandra Foote (The Woodlands, TX), Garrett Foote (Brazoria, TX), and Paige Foote (Brazoria, TX), and his great grandchildren Keegan Vargas (San Antonio, TX), Lane Livingston (Boerne, TX) and Presley Featherston (San Antonio, TX).
A memorial service for Robert will be held at the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department at 2:00pm Sunday, November 6, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to any of the following organizations: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
