Robert Cortinas, 53, of Van Vleck passed away October 4, 2015. He was born January 8, 1962 in Bay City, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a sister Silvia Cervantes. Survivors include his wife Christine Cortinas; mother Enedina "Diane" Bernal (Heraclio) of Bay City; father Benito Cortinas, Jr. (Lecha) of Bay City; daughter Kacie Cortinas (Darrell) of Houston; sons Robert (Harrison) Cortinas (Sabrina) of Lake Jackson, Jared (Harrison) Cortinas (Meredith) of Angleton, Elvis Cortinas (Samantha) of Bay City and Tony Alvarado of Waco; sisters Hilda Mireles (Roy) of Bay City, Mary Diaz (Elias) of Houston, Nancy Saucedo (Mike) of San Antonio and Petra Cortinas of Bay City; brothers Ricardo Cortinas, Sr. of Sugar Valley, Rene Cortinas (Irene) of Angleton, Ruben Cortinas (Beatrice) of Richmond, Rudy Cortinas (Cecilia) of Bay City and Tomas "Tommy" Cortinas (Teresa) of Houston; grandchildren Ariyan Alvarado of Waco, Rayden (Harrison) Cortinas and Raylee (Harrison) Cortinas of Lake Jackson, Destinee Swearingen of Houston, Nolan (Harrison) Cortinas of Angleton and expecting Dallas Cortinas.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Thursday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be10:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Elvis Cortinas, Jesse Mendieta, Sr., Leonard Fernandez, Jr., Rolando Cervantes, Arthur Cervantez and Leo Silva, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rene Cortinas, Ricardo Cortinas, Ruben Cortinas, Rudy Cortinas, Richard Cervantez, Mike Cervantez and Tommy Cortinas.
