Robert Jackson Batson, 69, passed away June 30, 2007. He was born June 21, 1938 in Madisonville, TX to the late Robert Rogers Batson and Susie Goolsby Batson. He was a member of the Old Ocean Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge #1284 in Sweeny. He worked as a shift supervisor for Phillips Petroleum for 40 years.

Survivors include daughter Terri & Husband David Barnovsky of Cortland, Ohio; son Robert Jody Batson of Victoria; eight grandchildren and a special friend Bernice Tatum. He was preceded in death by his wife Janette Batson.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Old Ocean Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Jim Hensley, David Matthews, Steve Troutwine, Buddy Philmon, David Barnovsky, Lance Barnovsky and Tyler Batson.
