Martha "Rita" Wright, 73, of Palacios passed away September 17, 2013. She was born February 19, 1940 in Blessing, Texas to the late Carl Knight Dewett and Robert Alberta Moore Dewett. Rita was a retired Rural Carrier for the US Post Office. She was a member of the Eastern Star and National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARF). She was an avid and passionate gardener and was loved by all who knew her.

Her husband Stanley Wright and brother Kelly Dewett preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter Crystal Letitia Foster and husband Luke of Austin; son Stanley Dewitt Wright and wife Rebecca of Palacios; brother Carl Dewett of Greenville, MS; grandchildren Bradley Dale Wright, Stanley J. Wright and Christopher Wade Wright and great grandson Bryce Edward Wright.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm until 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luke Foster, Stanley J. Wright, Bradley Dale Wright, Christopher Wade Wright, Kevin Harvey and Chris Harvey. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tim Wright, Carl Dewett, Steve Rabb, Andy Sanchez, Joe Soto and Billy Welch.
