Rita Bass Sutton, 83 of Bay City passed away Saturday, March 03, 2007. She was born May 14, 1923 in Dequincy, LA to the late Henry George Loyd and Viola Visart Loyd. She was a lifelong resident of Bay City, a retired secretary and a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Mary Bass Baker of Matagorda; her sons: Sam Bass of Mexico, John Bass and Till Bass of Bay City; by her special niece: Rita Kay Roney & husband Glen of McAllen; by 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 husbands: Kenneth E. Bass, Pete Beason, and Russell Sutton; by a son: Kenneth C. Bass: by 2 sisters: Eileen Hitchcock and Geanell Robertson; and by a Great Grandson: Dylan Scott Williams.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Matagorda Cemetery in Matagorda, TX with Rev. Pauline Harvey officiating. Honorary pallbearer will be Kyle Williams.
