Richard Mendez Sr. of Bay City passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Richard was born on February 7, 1952 in New Gulf, Texas to the late Felipe and Carmen Herrera Mendez.

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker and loved doting on his grandchildren..

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Anna Mendez; children, Lupe Gutierrez & wife Irene, Christina Warmke & husband Lee, Richard Mendez, Jr. & wife Kaci, Michelle Mendez & fiancé Arnulfo "Cookie" Arriaga; three brothers, one sister, five grandchildren; brother-in-law Manuel Garcia, Jr. and nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00-8:00pm with a rosary at 6:00Ppm Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Gerry Cernoch celebrant. Rite of committal to follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
