Ramon Richard Rooth, 71, of Bay City passed away August 29, 2024.  He was born April 3, 1953 to the late Ramon and Helen Rooth.

Richard proudly served as Captain of the Narcotics Division for the Matagorda County Sherriff's Department for many years. He was an avid pilot, and enjoyed hunting when he could squeeze time in between raising children and serving his community.

Survivors include his wife Dianne Cole Rooth; sons Jeremy and his wife Candace, and Jeffery Rooth; brother Eric Rooth and granddaughter Heidi Rooth.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM with Leroy Cunningham officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
