Richard R. Longoria, 88, of Bay City passed away June 4, 2011. He was born July 3, 1922 in Cuero, TX to the late Manuel Longoria & Catarina Rodriguez Longoria. He worked as an Electrical Mechanic for 40 years at Coastal Electric Motors. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was severely injured during the Normandy Invasion. He was a life member of Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438 in Bay City.

His wife Matilde Longoria, son Richard Longoria, Jr. and sisters Angelita Longoria & Irene Longoria preceded him in death. Survivors include daughters Hortencia Zavala of Angleton, Virginia Garcia of Bay City & Rachel Ramirez & husband Roger of Bay City; sons Ruben Longoria & wife Alvina of Katy, Michael Longoria of Bay City, Abel Tamez, Jr. & wife Annelie of San Antonio & Joe Pineda of Bay City; sisters Anita Luna of Victoria, Petra Rocha of Bay City, Otilia Martinez of New Orleans, Lily Sanchez & husband Frank of Angleton & Herlinda Hernandez & husband Robert of Killeen; brothers Manuel Longoria of Angleton & Rudy Longoria & wife Olivia of Bay City and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Monday, June 6, 2011 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. His Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
