Richard Anthony Kocurek, 65, of Sweeny, passed away August 25, 2019. He was born July 7, 1954 in Palacios, TX to Paul M. and Dorothy Shimek Kocurek.

Richard is preceded in death by his father, and brother David Kocurek. He is survived by his mother; sisters Deborah (Glen) Barnett, Margaret (Fred) Pena, Angelina (Isidro) Castanon, and Melissa (Mike) Brown; brothers Jerome (Jackie) Kocurek, Thomas (Debbi) Kocurek, Andrew (Theresa) Kocurek, Timothy Kocurek, Patrick (Linda) Kocurek, Christopher (Ana) Kocurek; sister-in-law Rita Kocurek, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5:30pm-8:00pm Wednesday, August 28 at Palacios Funeral Home. The Rosary will be 6:30pm that evening. Funeral services are 10:00am Thursday, August 29, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers are Trent Kocurek, Nathan Kocurek, Kevin Kocurek, Christopher Kocurek, Nicholas Castanon, Arthur Castanon, Thomas Castanon, Daniel Castanon and Matthew Brown.
