Richard Bustos, Sr., 92, of Bay City passed away January 27, 2015. He was born July 15, 1922 in Old Gulf, TX to the late Donaciano Bustos and Estefana Martinez Bustos. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cruz Bustos, daughter Becky Rodriguez and son Richard Bustos, Jr. Survivors include daughter Lydia Woods and husband Jim of Bay City; son Nat Bustos and wife Ann of Bay City; daughter-in-law Esther Bustos of Bay City; sisters Ofelia Guzman of Bay City and Irene Suarez of San Antonio; grandchildren Felicia Rodriguez Garay, Cindy Rodriguez, Megan Saha, Cory Saha, Lydia Rodriguez Olide, Veronica Rodriguez, Renee Bustos Gomez, Regina Bustos and Cindy Smith; 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2PM until 7PM Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 9:30AM Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 10:00AM with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be C. J. Garay, Cory Saha, Lorenzo Hernandez, Rudy Olide III, Joe Bustos and Mark Perez. His great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
