Ricardo Cortinas, Sr., 66, of Sugar Valley passed away March 26, 2019. He was born December 16, 1952 in Refugio, TX.

He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2438 in Bay City.

He was preceded in death by his father Benito Cortinas, Jr., a brother Robert Cortinas and a sister Sylvia Cervantes.

Survivors include his mother and step-father Diana & Eddie Bernal; step-mother Lecha Cortinas; son Ricardo Cortinas, Jr. (Tina); sisters Hilda Mireles (Roy), Maria Diaz (Elias), Nancy Saucedo ( Michael) and Petra Montalvo (Robbie); brothers Rudy Cortinas (Cecilia), Ruben Cortinas (Beatrice), Rene Cortinas (Irene) and Tommy Cortinas (Theresa) and by his two grandchildren Kayla Cortinas and A. J. Ricardo Cortinas.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Friday, March 29, 2019 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Elvis Cortinas, Leonard Fernandez III, Richard Cervantes, Jr., Roland Cervantes, Robert Cortinas and Tommy Cortinas.
