Rhesa Sue Alvaez, 66, of Bay City passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 in Bay City. She was born March 5, 1960 in Ganado, TX to the late Severiano H. Ramirez & Raquel Balli Rosas.

Rhesa had a great desire for cooking, loved to listen to music and dance, she enjoyed playing bingo, and going to game rooms with her family & friends. She reconnected with her faith five years ago. As a child she loved to make mud pies with her brothers and sisters. While standing on a bucket to hang clothes, she and her sister Barbara would take turns swatting roosters from pecking them. Above all else she was a proud mother to her seven children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Linda Ramirez; and nephew: Juan Ramirez. Rhesa is survived by her daughters: Theresa Mares, Irma Rodriguez (Jose), Jessica Gonzales (Javier), and Cynthia Stephens (Tiffany); sons: Shay Medina (Katia), Joe Angel Gonzales (Nancy) and Adam Gonzales; siblings: Severiano Ramirez Jr., Barbara Ramirez, Bobby Ramirez (Liz), and Malinda Quintanilla (Martin); 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 7 nieces; and 5 nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2026 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM with Deacon Wally Rodriguez officiating.
