Rebecca Jean Buckley, 78, of Palacios passed away October 4, 2022.  She was born February 20, 1944 in Palacios, TX to the late John Johnston and Corrine Vargas.

She retired from the Palacios ISD after 25 years of service.  Her hobbies included working in her flower beds, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, cooking, watching soap operas and the news, especially the weather reports, and going for late night rides with her husband.

Survivors include her husband Robert R. Buckley; daughters Annette LeBlanc (Eric), Barbara Peeples (Anthony), Roberta Weixelman (Trent) and Bobbie Buckley;; son Robert Sanchez (Jody); step-children Yvonne Hink (Ron); Robby Buckley (Yvette) and Alfred Buckley; sister Katherine Escobar; grandchildren Nicole LeBlanc, Phillip Leblanc, Jordan Sanchez, Kade Sanchez, Kamryn Vickers, Sean Vickers, Trey Weixelman, Gunner Weixelman, Jordan Peeples; great granddaughter Haizlee Ellison; step-grandchildren Jason Hink, A. J. Fort, Derek Hink, Josh Buckley, Kimberly Buckley, Alyssa Buckley and Angel Buckley.

A rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM with Father Richard Weixeleman officiating.  Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Phillip LeBlanc, Jordan Sanchez, Kade Sanchez, Sean Vickers, Trey Weixelman and Gunner Weixelman.
