Raymond J. Huerta, Sr. 79, of Van Vleck passed away February 9, 2014. He was born March 15, 1934 in San Benito, Texas to the late Luis and Mercedes Jalomo Huerta.

Raymond is survived by his daughters Alice H. Canales and husband Jesse, Stella Vargas, Dorene Tabares and husband Armando; sons Martin Huerta and wife Eloina, Joseph Huerta and wife Christy; brothers Louis Huerta and Raul Huerta; 27 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Elena Lopez Huerta, his parents; sons Raymond Huerta, Jr. and Manual Huerta and brother Angel Huerta.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM with a 6:00 PM prayer service, Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church with Rev. Janie Robles, Pastor Janie Jo Lopez and Martin Huerta officiating.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Cervantes, Jr., Smiley Huerta, Jacob Huerta, Armando Tabares, Jr., Ernie Tabares, Johnny Vargas and Ray Huerta, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers are Nico Huerta and Charlie Tabares.
