Raymond Herrera Erevia, Sr., 82, of Bay City, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, surrounded in his final days by his devoted wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He was the beloved son of David and Maria Erevia, born on February 18, 1944, in New Gulf, Texas.
In 1964, he married the love of his life, his beautiful bride, Delores Erevia. Together, they were blessed with 62 wonderful years of marriage and raised three children, building a life rooted in love, strength, and family.
Raymond dedicated 40 years of his life to the industrial field, beginning his career with US Contractors, Inc., where he worked with pride and commitment. He found joy in the simple things – especially being outdoors and caring for his yard, a passion he continued even in his later years with the help of his walker, a true testament to his determination and spirit.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Erevia, Jr.; his parents, David and Maria Erevia; his brothers, Matilde, Antonio, and David Jr.; and his sisters, Esperanza, Estella, Esther, Maria, and Lucia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Erevia; his siblings, Consuela (Hector) and Angel (Santos); his children, Bernard (Mary Ann) and Lisa (Ronald); daughters of the heart, Veronica and Nancy (John); his grandchildren, Karen, Natalie, Philip (Krissy), Bernard Jr. (Kayla), Brian, and Loren (Joseph); 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Raymond’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and devotion to family. His legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 9:00am-10:00am Friday, April 24, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30am and Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00am with Rev. Steven Vacek and Rev. Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers for Raymond will be R.J. Erevia, Gilbert Ramirez, Jr., Victor Gusman, Luis Aragon, Sahul Martinez, Jr., and Joe Rodriguez, Jr.
