Ramona Pena, 80, of Van Vleck passed away August 28, 2008. She was born July 17, 1928 in Pawnee, Texas to the late Manuel & Lucia Salazar Guajardo. She had been a resident of Matagorda County since 1950.

She was preceded in death by her husband Abelardo Pena, Sr.; brother Lupe Guajardo & sisters Paola Guajardo, Maria Garza and Frances Pena. Survivors include sons Manuel Pena & wife Rose of Markham, Abelardo Pena, Jr. of Louisville, KY & Antonio Pena of Van Vleck; sisters Dolores & husband Ben Santos of Martha, OK, Sofia & husband Rev. Felix Vela of Harlingen, TX, Hope & husband Jerry Danny of Boise, ID, Maggie Gonzalez of Rupert, ID & Lucy Valdez of Cortez, CO; brother Manuel Guajardo & wife Mary of Texas City; 8 grandchildren Cynthia & husband Jonathan Lauthers, Sasha Pena, Crystal Pena, Sonja & husband Peter Speltz, Abelardo Pena III, Brittany Pena, Antonio Pena, Jr. & wife Becky, Donnie Pena & wife Renee and 15 great grandchildren.

A prayer service will be 7:30 PM Friday, August 29, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Family Worship Center with Rev. Felix Vela officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Antonio Pena, Jr., Donnie Pena, Keegan Johnson, Manuel Pena, Abelardo Pena, Jr. and Antonio Pena, Sr.
