Ralph Landers Jr., 76, of Markham, TX passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Houston, TX. He was born September 3, 1932 in Powderly, TX to Ralph Landers and Elsie Banks Landers. He was a resident of Matagorda County for the past 35 years, and along with his late wife, was the founder and operators of Bay City Optical for 27 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Markham and a US Army veteran of the Korean Era.

He is survived by his daughters: Terry Frick & husband Mark of Markham, Linda Landers of Bay City, and Mary Nell Harvey & husband Brent of Markham; by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Ellen Landers and by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 10, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Markham with Revs. Jim Lane and Howard Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers will be Jason Frick, Justin Harvey, Mark Frick, Jr., Lance Frick, Tyler Rush and Timothy Stearman.
