Obituary

Rachel was born Rachel Anne Ramsey (Our child of Faith) in Cotula, Texas on December 14th, 1954 and passed away December 7, 2011. She was a resident of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Rachel an ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God; Member of the Hot Springs Village Bible Church; Tribal Member of the Choctaw Nation, and Former Counselor for Texas Prison Ministries. Rachel held an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Mental Health and obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree Summa cum-laude in Religious studies in December 2011. Rachel was a Soldier for Christ, dedicated Mother, Daughter, Sister and friend. She loved to visit with family and friends, Traveling, Cooking, Music, Old Movies and Mysteries. She was a diligent student of Religious Studies and budding Artist.

Proceeded in death by Mother Patsy Hybarger Scherer and Howard Lee Sherer, Jr. and Grandson Timothy Lewis. Survived by beloved son Sherman Richard Lewis, Jr. of Kotzebue, Alaska and Grandsons Ricky, Zachary, Landon, Morgan and Aidan Lewis. Father: Reverend Joseph E. Ramsey and Step-mother Berniece Sanders Ramsey. Brother: Joe Ray Ramsey. Sisters: Mary Ramsey King, Dedra Lynn Ramsey, and Anagail Scherer Jackson. Nephews: Darrell Ramsey Machacek, Scott King, Dustin Scherer, Andrew Preston, and Jaccob Ramsey. Nieces: Rachel Ramsey Rush, Lisa Ramsey Sexton, Courtney Mae King, Kerri Anne and Savanah Jackson. Many Loving Cousins, great nieces and nephews, wonderful friends and Associates in Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Hot Springs Village Ark . Rachel also leaves behind devoted companion Sugar.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday December 14th, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas. Reverend Louis Rush will officiate. Dr. Michael Zimmerman will present Degree in Religious Studies from Liberty University to Rachel's Father, Reverend Joseph E. Ramsey. Burial at Hawley Cemetery Blessing, Texas. Pallbearers: Darrell R Machacek, Scott King, Dustin Scherer, Jaccob Ramsey, Zachary Lewis, Caleb Rush and Honorary Pallbearer Andrew Preston. Donations may be made to the Shepard Group % Village Bible Church, 100 Ponderosa Way, Hot Springs, AR 71909.
