Phillip "Phil" Randolph Rodgers, 69, of Matagorda passed away December 14, 2022.  He was born December 6, 1953 in Aiken, South Carolina.

Phil loved Matagorda Beach and was most happy watching sunsets at the beach. He had a love for surfing during his early adult life and could always be found on the water. In his later years, you could find him in his fishing boat where he claimed to know all the "good spots".

He recently retired from Lyondell after 30 years of service. He was a hardworking man who worked to ensure his family was taken care of. Phil was extremely proud of his three girls and their families. He is most remembered by them for his seafood, love of surfboards, and instilling in them a drive to be successful in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roland Rodgers and Frances Knight Rodgers.

Survivors include daughters Sarah Kraatz (Brett), Rebecca Fusch (Timothy) and Rachel Roberts (Christopher); sisters Donna Stephenson (Al) and Beth Morrone; brother Wyman Boyd; grandchildren Cole Kraatz, Claire Kraatz, Brody Kelley, Ava Roberts and Nora Roberts and the mother of his children, Jennifer Bishop.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
