Perry Lee Ruddick, 64, of Markham went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born on July 9, 1948 in Colorado City, TX to Everett Lee & Vivian Smith Ruddick. Perry worked in law enforcement for 13 years. He loved to spend time outdoors hunting and ranching. Perry was truly a people person, always helping those who needed it.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years: Barbara Briggs Ruddick; 4 children: Tiffany Ruddick Boone, Perry Wayne Ruddick, Stephanie Shepheard & husband Stan, and Glenda Pierce & husband Robert Ford Pierce; 6 grandchildren: Taylor Pierce, Brendan Pierce, Morgan Shepheard, Mackenzie Shepheard, Cameron Shepheard, and Maci Boone; mother: Vivian Smith Beights; sister: Donna Hill; brother: Keith Ruddick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Perry was preceded in death by his father: Everett Lee Ruddick and daughter: Stephanie Ruddick.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 1, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City with Rev. Lane Pardue officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers will be: Sam Shepheard, Robert Ford Pierce, Perry Wayne Ruddick, Mike Farrel, Brendan Pierce, and Robert Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dennis Briggs and Keith Ruddick.
