Peggy Jane Hobbs, 72, of Bay City passed away July 3, 2008. She was born July 31, 1935 in Vivian, Louisiana to the late Carlton C. & Marvalene Clark Lomax. She had been a resident of Bay City for 23 years where she was employed at Tett's Jewelers for 20 of those years. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church and gave of her time selflessly to her community.

She was a very loving mother, grandmother and wife and leaves behind her husband of 52 years, William H. Hobbs of Bay City; daughter Amanda Smith of Austin; son Keith Hobbs of Bay City; sister Carmen Guidry of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6PM to 8PM Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating.
