Pedro "Pete" Ordoñez, 72, of Bay City was born December 19, 1951 in Bay City, Texas to the late Matthew Ordoñez and Trinidad Enriquez Ordoñez and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 10, 2024.

Pedro was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army.  He spent his career as a carpenter specializing in cabinetry work and he also enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Helen Ordoñez; brothers Matthew Ordoñez, Jr. (Amelia) and Louis Ordoñez (Christina) and niece Kayse Pena.

Survivors include sisters Nicanora Ordoñez, Blasa Ordoñez, Mary Ordoñez (Moe), Janie Ordoñez, Candy Littleton (Quintin) and Veronica Ordoñez; brothers Paz Ordoñez (Mona) and Tino Ordoñez and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family expresses extreme gratitude to Shirley Taylor, Kimble Gutierrez, Cassandra Taylor, Dulce Galindo, Alexandra Galindo, Kimberly Varela, Santos Varela, Mary Taylor and his "grandson" Miles Varela, his caregiver family for their love and support over the years, especially during his battle with cancer.

Special thanks to the Baylor Medical Team and Angels Care Hospice Staff for their outstanding care and compassion during these final days.

A rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sweeny.  Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM with Father Preston Quintela officiating.  Interment will follow at the Sweeny Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Matthew Ordoñez III, Paz Ordoñez, Jr., Louis  Ordoñez, Jr., Reggie Matthews, Jr.,  Michael Parks, Sr. and Joseph Ordoñez.
