Pedro "Pete" Medina, Sr., 70, of Markham passed away May 24, 2025.  He was born February 28, 1955 in Bay City to the late Gabriel Medina, Sr. and Francisca Lopez Ellis.

He retired from the Matagorda County Sheriff's Office after 21 years, serving 8 of those years as Constable for Precinct 4.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons Sergio Medina and Pedro Medina, Jr.; brothers Johnnie and Gabriel Medina and sisters JoAnn Pena and Melinda Melendez.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Medina; daughter Katherine Mendoza (Joe); sons Paul Medina (Marlee) and Gabriel Medina; grandchildren Isaak, Nicholas, Emily, Kaci, Travis, Kiley and Damon and great grandchildren Arianna, Belle, Mason, Thomas and Iyden.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, May 30, 2025 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Markham with Rev. Mitch Sauls officiating.  Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Paul Medina, Gabriel Medina, Isaak M. Mendoza, Nicholas M. Mendoza, Ernest Medina and Joe Mendoza.
