Pauline Alice West, 92, of Bay City passed away July 26, 2013. She was born November 22, 1920 in Palmer, TX to the late Paul E. Baker and Evie Bomer Baker. She Honorable served as a Technician Fifth Grade (Tech.5) in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) of the US Army during World War II. She was assigned to the 6715th WAC Communications Company. She was a life member of Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438. She worked for David's Firestone in Bay City for many years and retired from Wal-Mart at the age of 85.

Her husband Leon West and a grandson Bobby Douglas preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters Beverly West of Bay City, Sandra Douglas & husband Larry of Bay City and Louise DeFrees & Husband Mike of Granbury, TX; sons Jerry West & wife Teresa of Bay City and George West & wife Heidi of Dickinson; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm until 7pm Monday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Mark West, Sam West, Troy Douglas, Jeremy Douglas, Paul Denham, Jeff West & James long. Honorary pallbearers will be Leah Long, Jessica Douglas, Sara Staszesky and Cheryl Conley.
