Obituary

Pauline Lydia Sliva, 89, of Houston passed away December 24, 2020. She was born February 7, 1931 in Bay City, TX to the late Paul and Marie Kiehr Grune.

Pauline retired to Fredericksburg, TX in 1997 where she enjoyed walking, gardening, crafting and the German ambiance. From her home, she operated Kiehr Kottage Bed and Breakfast for several years baking her wonderful baked goods for her overnight guests. She actively volunteered her time to the community including Meals on Wheels, Nimitz Museum and sharing with her neighbors. Her earlier years included many travels around the United States, Europe and Jamaica. She loved the outdoors and was happiest in her gardening and reading her many books.

She was preceded in death by sister, Matilda Smith of Florida, brother in law, C.R. Morrison of Hutto, both parents, granddaughter, Danielle Nicollette and infant brother, Paul Grune Jr.

Pauline is survived by her sister, Dorothy Morrison of Hutto, daughters, Jeanie Sliva of Houston and partner Leslie Shook; Patty Marchetti (John) of Austin; Kathy Braden (Pat) of Fulshear; sons, Steve (Donna) of Bay City; and Gilbert Sliva Jr. (Belinda) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Lindsay Garrett and fiance, Chris Stevenson of Houston, Lauren Whitmer of Austin, Mindalyn Galli (Bruno) of Katy, Jason Sliva (Annabelle) of Laredo, Emily Sliva of Hurst, Sam Sliva and fiance Chelsea Brady of The Woodlands, Julia Molle (Henri) of Austin, Eric Braden and Cody Braden of Austin, Tyler Braden of Fulshear, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

A private service will be held at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City, TX on Tuesday December 29, 2020. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Van Vleck, TX. A future Celebration of Life Ceremony will be forthcoming because of the Covid 19 pandemic.
