Paul A. Scheel departed this life on April 7, 2014, at his home. Paul was born to Margaret and Paul Scheel on February 20, 1932 in Ganado, Texas. Paul was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Chairman of Supervisory Committee of Bay Cel Federal Credit Union. Paul retired from Celanese Chemical Company. After retirement, he volunteered for many organizations, including MeHop, Habitat for Humanity, and the church. He and his wife enjoyed many trips, traveling in their RV.

Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; infant daughter, Lisa; his parents; and his sisters, Angelina and Lorraine. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Billie Marie; a son, James (Carla) of Bay City; step-sons, Rick Darby (Anna) of Rockport, Brent Darby of Bay City and Jeff Darby (Gina) of Blessing; grandchildren Max Darby of Rockport, Betty Marie Darby of California, Heath Darby of Blessing, Claire Wleczyk (Billy) of Katy, Angie Hartl (Russell) of Victoria, Ryan Pevay (Lacy) of Oklahoma, Allison Schneider (Chris), and Becca Pevay of Bay City; and numerous great-grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his brothers, Ray (Rosalie) of Humble, George (Robbie) of Bay City and John (Gloria) of Fulshear; and sisters, Mary Leigh Scheel of Jourdanton and Shelly Scheel of Spicewood, Texas.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, Texas. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Knights of Columbus Hall, prior to the funeral.
