Obituary

Otto H. Janssen Jr., 84, of Bay City died peacefully at home after almost a year of failing health on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. He was born March 23,1927 in Bonus, Wharton County Texas to the late Otto H. Janssen Sr. & Paula Krueger Janssen. Otto was a long time resident of Matagorda County, and owned & operated many businesses in the years he had lived.

He is survived by his wife: Gail Crocker Janssen; son: Otto H. (Rocky) Janssen III; 2 sisters-in-law: Laura Harvey Janssen and Ellen Crocker Lewis; nieces & nephews: Paula Janssen Hendrick, Claude & Linda Janssen Hudson, Simon & Sandra Janssen Zalman, Mike & Karen Janssen Talasek, Charles & Gail Janssen Bass, David Janssen, Lynn Robinson Wood, Brent & Laura Robinson Woychesin, Sidney Ellen Lewis, and Jim & Melissa Lewis Mathis; and associates & extended family: Ernest & Betty Schluter, Carl & Carolyn Schluter, Haskell Simon, Russell & Peggy Cram, Earl Leeton, Thomas & Betty Orsak, Beverly & Devon Creager, Lee & Caroline Vaughan, James M. & Judy Allen, Terrence & Emma Allen, Richard & Nancy Knapik, John & Jennifer Runnells III, G. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2011 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be: Larry Avants, Charles Bass, Russell Cram, Matthew Dodd, Travis Dodd, Cary Orsak, Paul Sliva, and Jim Walters. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Haskell L. Simon, John Runnells III, Tommy Orsak, G. W. Franzen, Lee Vaughan, James M. Allen, Richard Knapik, Billy Mann, Devon Creager, and Earl Leeton.
