Ora Mary Farthing, 92, of Bay City, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010. She was born May 13, 1918 in Clemville, TX to John Fella and Mary Andrea Rasmussen Fella. She was a resident of Eagle Lake from 1962 to 2007 and, along with her husband, owned and operated a drive-in grocery. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Eagle Lake and a member of the Lioness Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Clyde Everett Farthing; and brother: John Victor Fella. She is survived by her daughters: Ann Thompson and husband Don, of Bay City and Jan Hosman of Eagle Lake; by sons: Clyde Everett Farthing, Jr. of Bay City and Ane Marie Farthing of El Campo and John Thomas Farthing and wife Liz of Markham; by brother: James W. Fella of Loudon, TN; by 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and special persons: Tony & Jacob Hosman of Eagle Lake.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Larry Dulaney officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
