Oliver Strouther Southall, 89, of Boling passed away September 24, 2023.  He was born June 30, 1934 in Prichard, Alabama to the late Calvin Oliver Southall and Alberta N. Whisenhant Southall.

Oliver served the Lord for 40+ years as a Baptist preacher, his last posting was at Iago Federated Church. His previous occupations included police officer and county dispatcher. In his retirement he created and sold beautiful woodworking scroll saw creations of mainly crosses. He could be found at many different craft shows around south Texas selling his wares and visiting with old and new friends. In his lifetime he fished, hunted, and sat in front of the tv rooting for his favorite team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Susan Seaman.

Survivors include daughters Deborah Emmons and husband John, Vivian Orr and husband Joseph Mark and Kim Mangum and husband Jeff; son Matthew Southall and wife Gale; grandchildren Elissa Emmons, Joseph Mark Orr II, Brandon Oliver Orr, Daniel Orr, Candace Landry, Lucas Orr, Matthew Southall and Karah Oliver and 22 great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel.
