Norwood A. Berry, our beloved "Popo", went to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 12, 2005. Born on October 29, 1920, in Brookshire, Texas, he was preceded in death by his parents, Richard E. and Beatrice L. Berry and his brother, Richard. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rosie Mae Berry, and their children, Lyndel Berry and wife Brenda, Roger Berry and wife Vickey, Barbara Sullivan and husband Mike, Debbie Burroughs, Norman Glenn Berry and April Berry O'Connell. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Dustin and Heather Berry, Kendall and Cale Kobza, Dawn Berry, Brandon and Karen Berry, Andrew Sullivan and Allison O'Connell. Popo was a great grandfather to Elisa & Peyton Berry, Braeden and Brylee Kobza. He is also survived by his sister Viola Boyd and husband Jack, as well as numerous other friends and relatives.
Popo was happiest when hunting or fishing or reminiscing about the many hunting trips enjoyed with his wife and sons. Popo was always in search of the "big red" and looked forward to taking his family fishing or for a long boat ride. He also enjoyed reuniting with his Navy buddies at their annual reunion.
Popo was a man of integrity and lived his life uplifting others. He blessed all of us with his goodness and gentleness and will be in our hearts always.
