Norma May Whitley Hunt, 86, passed away March 21, 2018. She was born December 14, 1931 in Boling, TX to Robert Bernie and Eva Mae Whitley.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Harold Hunt; brothers Robert (Diddy) and Charles (Brother) Whitley, and step-daughter Linda Hunt Traylor. She is survived by many loving family members: son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Pamala Hunt; daughter Kelli Hunt; step-daughter and husband Judy and Jack Rhode; grandchildren David, Joey, Cole and Christine Hunt, Traylor Huitt, Rachael Vincent, Reid Whitley, Holly Vacek, Dean and Scott Sterling, and great-grandchildren Whitley and Levi Vacek, Tate and Teagan Whitley, Slone, Ty and Ellie Vincent.
Her greatest love was her family, who she spent many, many hours with. She so enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as doing for her family. Her faith in God was unwavering. As a member of First Baptist Church of Palacios for 56 years, she taught and directed Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was an avid and accomplished bridge player, and was also very active in the community, helping and volunteering whenever needed.
The family will receive friends and relatives 4:00-6:00pm Sunday, March 25 at Palacios Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00am Monday, March 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Palacios with Rev. Chris Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers are David Hunt, Joey Hunt, Cole Hunt, Traylor Hunt Huitt, Levi Vacek and Chett Vincent.
