Nicolasa Lara, 64 of Blessing, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. She was born December 6, 1941 in LaFeria, TX to Ataulfo Guerrero and Rosa Galvan Guerrero. She was a life long resident of Matagorda County and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing.

She is survived by her husband: Cruz Lara, Jr. of Blessing; her daughter: Cynthia "Cindy" Lara & fiancé Renee Guajardo of Blessing; her sons and daughters-in-law: Freddie & Maggie Lara of Blessing, Gary & Dana Lara of Bay City, Ricardo & Charlotte Lara of Blessing and Mario & Julie Lara of Blessing; by her sisters: Maria Martinez of Blessing, Sylvia Rocha of Wharton, Ursula Longoria of Blessing and Zulema Rendon of Oklahoma; by her brothers: Raul Guerrero of Santa Fe, Ataulfo Guerrero, Jr. of Palacios, Ramiro Guerrero of Palacios and Tiofilo Guerrero of Blessing; and by her grandchildren: Rachel Lara, Gabriel Lara, Sarah Lara, Joshua Lara, Jessica Lara, Jacob Lara, Jordan Carrillo, Marisa Lara, Chelsea Perez, Nicholas Perez, Darrien Lara, and Abrea Lara. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ataulfo & Rosa Guerrero, a sister: Amalia Guerrero and her brother: Ramon Guerrero.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Sunday, March 12, 2006 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2006 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers will be Pete Lara, Jr., Raul Caballero, Ricky Galvan, Joshua Lara, Jordan Carrillo and Gabriel Lara. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Lara, Nicholas Perez, Robbie Galvan and Joey Lara.
