Nellie Mae Shindler Schicke, 85, of Bay City passed away January 4, 2013. She was born September 25, 1927 in Matagorda County, Texas. She spent many years driving a bus and working in the cafeteria for Tidehaven ISD. She was a wonderful mother and a great cook.

She was preceded in death by a brother in his childhood and husbands W. B. Shindler and Warrie Schicke. Survivors include sons Jesse Shindler and wife Sheri of Bay City, Phillip Shindler and wife Jeri Lou of Missouri and Danny Shindler and wife Diana of Bay City; grandchildren Donica Shindler, Somer Shindler, Bill Shindler, Lacy Shindler & husband Mike Byrn, Holli Burns & husband Garrett, Heidi Shindler, Kacy Shindler and Will Shindler and great grandchildren Julius and Genevieve Byrn.

Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Forrest Harter officiating. Interment will follow at Midfield Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
