She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Turner who were married in Annapolis, Maryland on January 23, 1959 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage together. She was a beautiful, vibrant, and energetic woman who always made friends easily. She completed her College Degree at St. Mary's College in O'Fallon, Missouri. She worked for the Conover Modeling Agency in New York, where she modeled teen sports clothing. She worked for the City of Annapolis, Maryland the City of Hapeville, Georgia, and was the Manager for the Lake Spivey Family Park in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a Real Estate Agent and Broker for the Gary Greene Realtors and the Forest Associates Realtors in Houston, Texas. She retired in 1996 when Bill Turner retired from his career with Delta Air Lines and was employed as the Director for the Port of Palacios and they made Palacios, Texas their home.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Turner, her brother Carl Bock and his wife Frances Bock. She is also survived by several First Cousins in New York and numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was an avid protector of all animals and fed many cats and dogs as pets, especially Nappy and Oreo, and her white Persian cat, Sugar Cat. She was a firm believer in the Rainbow Bridge, where all of these pets and animals have been awaiting her arrival in Paradise.
Nancy loved living by the Bay in Palacios and loved all of her friends and neighbors who live in this wonderful community. She worked for the Palacios Pet Pals association for many years, where she met many new friends with a similar love for animals. She met Frances Ochoa there who quickly became her close friend and sister. Frances later joined the family when she married Carl Bock, Nancy's brother. She especially loved our neighbors Tom and Pat Ellis and Hazel Montgomery who was her confidant and friend. When we first arrived here, she was befriended by John Toellner who allowed her to name his newborn calves and to treat them as pets; by Jack and Louise Wachter, who taught her the joy of fishing for Redfish, Trout, and Crab; and Robert Fletcher, who shared his collection of Cookbooks with her. These who have preceded her, are awaiting her arrival just beyond the Rainbow Bridge.
Graveside services will be conducted by Chris Webber at the Palacios Cemetery at 2:00pm on Friday, August 23, 2019.
