Muriel Posey Savage,88, longtime resident of Markham, was reunited with her heavenly father on April 5, 2009. She was born November 23, 1920 in Clemville, TX to Isaac Benton & Lora Walker Posey. She married Charles Vincent Savage on Sept. 11, 1935 in Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers: Marcus Lee & James Robert Posey, 4 sisters: Annie Mary Sparks, Edith Mallard, Beulah Wernly and Lorene Harvey, great grandson: Anthony Wesley Duncan, son-in-law: Daniel Allen Dabelgott and niece: Sandra Lee Posey.

She is survived by her 7 children: Danny Lee, Lora Jo, David Vincent, Bonita Carol, John Paul, Teresa Ann and Mark Shannon; 4 sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Sumbs, Mary Rose, Joe Cole, and Lula Kelley; 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, son-in-law: Walter Lightcap, daughter-in-law: Anne Fabrygel Savage, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Nolan Savage, Steven Horton, David Savage, Jr., Michael Lightcap, Darin Dabelgott & Kevin Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be: Nathan Savage, Stacey Horton, Philip Savage, Neal Savage, Daryl Dabelgott, Derek Dabelgott, Sheldon Wilson, Ken Carney, Robin Sparks, Michael, Alfred & Bobby Posey, Harry, Rick, Jeff & Neal Mallard, Tommy and Tim Wernly. After the services the family will be gathering at the Markham Community Center from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
