Minnie Medina Zepeda, 79, of Bay City passed away March 25, 2010 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Flatonia, TX. She was born Dec. 17, 1930 in Northern Headquarters, TX to the late G. B. and Josephine Perez Medina. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 2438 in Bay City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elias R. Zepeda, Grandson John J. Cano, Jr. & brothers Tiny Medina & Gabriel Medina.
Survivors include daughters Mary Ann Perez, Bonnie Sue Cano & Louis F. Pierce, Patricia Ham & Ronnie, Helen Medina, Elaine Pounder & James; sons Adam & Abel Barlow; grandchildren & spouses Marsha Lynn Cano, Christy & Jaime Huggins, Alexandra & Christopher Owen, Robert & Tiffany Reyna, Jason Cano, Jacob & Jennifer Cano, Jillian & Stephen Cagle, Patricia & Shelbey Barnett, Steve Ann Perez & Gene Burns, Thomas Cody Perez, Robert Truitt, Amber Ham and Yvette Coronado; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters & 5 five brothers.
The family will receive visitors from 4pm to 6pm Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 29, 2010 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Susan Kennard of St. Mark's Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Jacob Cano, Thomas Cody Perez, Stephen Charles Cagle & Shelbey Barnett. James Pounder, Ronnie Ham, Adam Barlow, Abel Barlow, Christopher Owen, Robert Truitt, Jaime Huggins & Robert Reyna will serve as honorary pallbearers.
There are no words to express the care given to our Mom, Minnie, by the nursing staff at Oak Manor, especially Soladad Flores, Anabel Venegas, Angelica Morales, & Jearnell Williams and other members of the staff. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Phillip H. Parker VFW Post 2438, PO Box 269, Bay City, TX 77404, Attention: President of Ladies Auxiliary.
