Millie Frances Svetlik, 94, formerly of Bay City, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Pasadena, TX. She was born August 1, 1913 in Rabb Switch, TX to John Vasek and Annie Tlatal Vasek. She married Ladik Svetlik on November 21, 1938 in Hallettsville, TX and they settled in Markham, TX, to farm for 32 years, until his death in 1970. She then moved to Bay City, TX where she lived for 23 years. She worked for 10 years in the Matagorda General Hospital Cafeteria. In 1993 she moved to Deer Park, TX to be close to her son. In 2003 she had her first stroke and for the last 5 years, she has been at Vista Continuing Care in Pasadena, TX.

She is survived by her daughters: Irene Blake & husband Stan of Houston, and Margaret Fajkus of Alvin; her son: Leonard Svetlik & wife Rosemarie of Pasadena; a daughter-in-law: Doris Svetlik of Keller; a brother: Henry Vasek of Houston; a sister: Angelina Rother of Hallettsville; grandchildren: Michelle Wissner, Darryl Fajkus, Denise Kazmiroski, David Svetlik, Brian Svetlik and Darren Svetlik; and by her great grandchildren: Chelsea Wissner, Kiley Kazmiroski, Kandice Kazmiroski, Tyler Svetlik, Jordon Svetlik, Lillian Svetlik, Jonathon Svetlik and Alexandra Svetlik. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ladik Svetlik; her parents: John & Annie Vasek; a son: Marvin Svetlik; son-in-law: Clem Fajkus; 5 sisters: Sophie Zak, Martha Woytek, Hattie Vasek, Mathilda Gaidusek and Lillie Muenster; by 2 brothers: Fred Vasek and George Vasek; by 2 granddaughters: Darlene and Delores Fajkus; and by one great-grandson: Brennan Svetlik.

The Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Blessing, TX, with Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be David Svetlik, Brian Svetlik, Darrin Svetlik, Darryl Fajkus, Howard Wissner, John Kazmiroski and Tyler Svetlik.
