Mildred Scroggins Martin, 84, of Bay City passed away July 13, 2015. She was born June 9, 1931 in Houston, TX to the late Ernest Dual Scroggins and Edna Allene Spake Scroggins. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked for many years at Bay City Bank & Trust. She was a Beautiful Woman inside and out. Today. she left us for her Eternal Home...Through all those years she was a positive, loving force in our Family... Always sweet and kind to everyone... Yet strong and resolute when necessary... Faith and Family were the Credo of her life... And she was committed to both until the end... She leaves a big void for all who knew her... And she will be sorely missed... May she rest in peace!

She was preceded in death by her sister Murlene Murphy. Survivors include her husband Bruce R. Martin, Jr.; daughters Sylvia Reimer & husband Jerry of Spring and Denise Rodgers & husband Tom of Bay City; son Rex Martin of Galveston; brothers Earl Scroggins of Gun Barrel City, TX and Ray Scroggins & wife Candy of Arizona; grandchildren Kym Teal & husband Scott, Larry Currie & wife Gayelynn, Christy Collins & husband Vic and Matt Rodgers & wife Elizabeth and 10 great grandchildren Tyler, Hayley, Jacob, Grace, Kaylee, Emily, Kathryn, Zach, Paden and Ramsie.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 10AM until Noon Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Sassman and Rev. Lane Pardue officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
