Miguel C. Vargas, 95, of Bay City, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009. He was born December 19, 1913 in Jaral de Berrios, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Begnino Vargas and Gonzala Castillo Vargas. He was a resident of Bay City since 1948, was retired from the City of Bay City Maintenance Dept., and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Ricarda Vargas of Bay City; his daughter: Maria Delia Jaramillo of Bay City; his sons: Victor Vargas and wife Dolores of Van Vleck, Rocendo Ismael Vargas & wife Elisia of Bay City and Juan Manuel Vargas of Houston; by his sister: Julia Vargas Arellano of Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren: and 1 great great grandchild.

The Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: Ricky, Tony, Gilbert, Victor Jr., Rene, & Robert Vargas, Oscar Jaramillo Jr., and Oscar Niño.
